The Eich & Birk residential development in Neuenhof comprises a modern replacement development with a total of 111 affordable apartments. Eight older residential blocks dating from the 1950s and 1960s were replaced by five new buildings, providing contemporary living spaces with a variety of apartment layouts. The first apartments were occupied in October 2025, with the entire development completed in 2026.
ATLANT® Strong composite columns from Peikko were used for the structural system of the project. The slender columns enable an efficient construction method and support the realization of the five buildings with their different apartment sizes. By combining high load-bearing capacity with a compact design, the available space can be used efficiently for residential purposes. In addition, the composite columns feature integrated fire protection and provide VKF-certified fire resistance.
The use of ATLANT® Strong composite columns enabled the realization of this extensive residential development by combining high load-bearing capacity, small cross-sections and safety in a single solution. The Eich & Birk residential development therefore combines the demand for affordable housing with an efficient and modern construction approach.
