The expansion of the Maltech Müller AG facility in Weinfelden created additional office and commercial space. The challenge was to safely support heavy loads without losing valuable usable space due to large column cross-sections.
Peikko’s ATLANT® Strong composite columns were therefore used for the structural system. They combine high load-bearing capacity with slim cross-sections, thereby creating more usable space within the building. This offers a decisive advantage, particularly in office and commercial spaces where flexible floor plans and efficient use of space are essential.
In addition to meeting structural requirements, the composite columns also satisfied the required fire safety standards. Thanks to their integrated steel core, they achieve a fire resistance rating of R60, combining load-bearing capacity, space efficiency, and safety in a single solution.
